Yesterday, I finally earned 200 Tol Barad Commendations to get my Drake of the West Wind!
I haven’t concentrated on mounts too much. It was overwhelming before Pandaria to earn each special mount for each character. Today, all toons on an account share the mounts that you earn (with a few limitations here and there) so it is much more manageable to me.
The drake of the west wind is quite pretty. I love the turquoise shiny parts.
I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of the drake style mounts. They seem big and bulky to me. The drake is great if you want to take yourself out for a flight around the countryside. Then, you have time to enjoy the beauty and elegance of the outspread wings.
I would take quiet exploratory and meditative flights quite a bit during Wrath of the Lich King, when I first got my flying ability. I don’t do that very often these days. Usually, I want a more compact mount.
I am very happy to have this achievement under my belt though. Tol Barad is fun, but time consuming.
What did you do this morning?
First, I parachuted off an airship…
Then I flew around trying to shoot a barrel on a boat for forty five minutes…
All in all, not a bad start to the day!
More World of Warcraft news from me!
Just before the last patch went into action, I finished Loremaster on my main toon. It was sort of anti climactic. I didn’t have anyone to share my enthusiasm with at the time. I noted the achievement, and went on to the next thing. But now, I am very proud of myself for finishing this. It took a long time, especially since many of the quests reset when Cataclysm started.
I am now officially a Loremaster.
I have been attemping for over a year to get a fox kit companion pet drop from the foxes in Tol Barad. Today, I achieved success! I have my very own fox kit!
Unfortunately, this didn’t drop for my main toon. I am still extremely excited about it though.
I have been horribly remiss in posting.
At first, I had the post Christmas blues. Now, I have the flu. Boo!
In The World of Warcraft, we are celebrating the Lunar Festival, which is very similar to real life Chinese New Year. We greet our elders, and receive red envelopes. This year, one of the new items you can earn is a lantern.
I have 6 characters that could easily earn a lantern this year, so that has been my focus. I have 3 done and 3 to go. Being sick was not conducive to playing WoW this week though.
Soon enough, the Valentine’s Day festival called “Love is in the Air” will be upon us.
Before getting the flu, I was rather obsessed with Dollar Store Crafts, and finding materials at Dollar Tree. I have many projects underway. Unfortunately, I caught a computer virus with my people virus. I immediately formatted my computer. I thought I was so smart about it, but I deleted every single bookmark I had been collecting for over a year. (Since the last time I formatted and forgot to save my bookmarks…) Will I ever learn? Probably not!
This time, I am saving everything to my Pinterest account. And in this way, I can share projects with other people, too. It seems like a win-win opportunity.
I hope you are staying healthy and far away from viruses of any kind!
Yarr! Ahoy Matey! Today ye landlubbers be tawkin’ like pirates. On World of Warcraft, lucky gnaves git ta share da rum with Dread Captain Demeza in Booty Bay. Me crew iz ready and waitin’!
