Free-Spirit February

With Valentine’s Day arriving shortly, plus all of the Barbie award buzz, I have pink on my mind.
It took a while for me to get in a habit of actually playing music instead of utilizing Professor Hill’s method of thinkology (from The Music Man). But I’ve played piano several days in a row for 30-60 minutes each time since January 15th. I’m approaching things music with curiosity and enjoyment, and not expecting perfection. Yesterday, I played through a beginners version of “I just called to say I love you” and the way the harmony fit together was so intriguing. I can’t wait to play today.
The other thing I noticed is how much of a workout it is to practice music. Wow, I was sore after that first day. Sore but it is totally worth it. I’m building new habits.
What’s on your mind for February? Let me know!
