What do you call a parrot that doesn’t eat? A polynomeal.
July 25th was the 10th anniversary of my father’s passing. It seems like yesterday that we spent a month with him in the hospital – 2 weeks getting his diagnosis, 2 weeks watching him die. It was both the best of times and the worst of times. I am so grateful that I was able to spend so much time there. I brought in my violin and my piano, and played my little heart out. Dad would grimace when I played a sour note. He was truly one of the most amazing musicians that I’ve ever met, and I was so lucky to have him for my father.
Consequently, I have punny dad jokes on my mind.
School is going well, but overtaking almost every waking thought. Then I take a break and make art. I’ll make a post soon with some pictures of things that I’ve been creating.
What’s the difference between one parrot and two? One parrot can’t carry a coconut, but toucan.
Heehee.
I finally had the great pleasure of seeing Toad the Wet Sprocket perform live and it was a wonderful magical concert. I highly recommend seeing them in concert. I also quite enjoyed the opener, Marcy Playground. I’m a new fan! I especially loved listening to MP’s drummer, Shlomi Lavie. He is so good. I could feel the base drum in my heart, like a lifeline thrown to me straight from God. Those healing vibrations are so good.
Some of our seedlings didn’t make it, but we’re also on garden duties. It is a joy to get my hands in the dirt, and watch the plants grow slowly. I can’t wait to show everyone pictures!
What are you doing for July?
